The Solicitors’ Charity steps out to give support at The London Legal Walk

The Solicitors’ Charity will be stepping up the pace at The London Legal Walk this month to raise awareness of the support it offers solicitors in times of need.

The Solicitors’ Charity is sponsoring the event, organised by the London Legal Support Trust, and participants are invited to stop at the charity’s information stand to find out how it helps solicitors who are going through difficult times.

The walk itself celebrates the legal community supporting access to justice. Proceeds from the fundraiser allow the Trust to support over 100 organisations in London and the South East, helping them provide more free and pro bono legal advice to solicitors.

The event will end with a celebration featuring street food vendors, fire jugglers and musicians who will entertain until 10pm. 

All registered walkers will receive a free drinks voucher which can be used at the bar, or donated back to help raise even more money! The Solicitors’ Charity, along with the other event sponsors, The Law Society and Lexis Nexis will donate £1 to the London Legal Support Trust per voucher donated.

Sign up before Friday 8 October to walk, jog or run a 10k route with your team through central London on Monday 18 October.

Chief Executive Nick Gallagher said: “The Solicitors’ Charity is pleased to be a sponsor of The London Legal Walk to raise awareness of the support we can give solicitors in times of need. This is our first event since COVID-19. 

“We’ve listened to solicitors in a range of practices and gained a greater understanding of how the profession has been impacted and what support these people really need.

“So we will be reaching out to those in the profession who have struggled during the pandemic as well as solicitors who are finding times are hard for other reasons.

 “We are proud to be stepping up to help solicitors in England and Wales get back on track.”
