The Solicitors’ Charity at the Compliance Officers Conference 2025
On 21st October 2025, The Solicitors’ Charity will once again be at the Compliance Officers Conference at the ICC Birmingham – a key gathering for compliance in the legal sector. For us, it’s a chance to share how firms can make a meaningful difference to solicitors and their dependants when life takes an unexpected turn.
Turning compliance into care
Every year, firms identify unclaimed client balances – funds that cannot be returned to clients despite best efforts. These balances, often referred to as Residual Client Balances (RCBs), can be donated to The Solicitors’ Charity with full indemnity protection. What might otherwise remain unused is transformed into vital wellbeing support – from therapy and financial advice to career coaching and emergency grants. For solicitors facing illness, redundancy, debt, or personal crisis, this support can be life-changing.
Introducing Firm Friends
Alongside RCB donations, firms can also get involved through Firm Friends – our new partnership scheme for organisations of all sizes. Becoming a Firm Friend means your firm is recognised as a champion of solicitor wellbeing, helping to fund services that make a measurable impact across the profession. From regular donations guided by firm size, to access to resources and recognition across our channels, Firm Friends is designed to bring the profession together in support of its people.
Meet us at the conference
If you’re attending the Compliance Officers Conference this year, we’d love to meet you. Our team will be on hand throughout the day to explain how unclaimed balances work in practice, how your firm can join Firm Friends, and the real difference these contributions make for colleagues in need.
